Then, I had a radical thought: What if I apply the same attitude to my resume?
My background is, well, extremely varied (understatement). There's my recruiting resume. My academic resume. My communication resume. And then, of course, there's my acting resume. But even these well-honed, field-specific resumes can get wordy. I can get wordy, often unnecessarily so.
The answer? Get rid of it. TAKE IT AWAY!
I took a good look at each resume and decided that I could stand to be a little ruthless. And you know what? We all can.
Clear out what you don't need, from your content and your style. Brevity breeds confidence. You'll feel a hell of a lot more self-assured sending out your resume, I promise. And the recruiters and hiring managers of the world will thank you. Profusely.
